To The Purple Palace

A river gleams.

It shines under the sun.

There's work to be done,

Though in a tired body still,

shaken, not yet won

With weathered feet

and  a stiffened neck.

Yeah, this warrior

almost feels

defeat,

After the shipwreck

But there will be peace.

yes, there will be release

at the bottom of the hill.

beyond this rocky land’s

desolate chill,

there is a real thrill

to seek,

And it reaps

the beat

of a heart

at near-perfect

Peace

In a purple palace

with a moat so deep

surrounding like crystal

and a bridge that is

the key.

One day I’ll walk with glee

along the bridge

To the purple palace,
